Wedding planning is in full swing! I have been a busy lady. We jumped right into everything and started by looking for the perfect venue. We knew we wanted something with character and beauty so it would stand on its own and wouldn’t need tons of decorations. That helped us narrow our list down to six venues. Some were managed by the same companies so that meant just four venue visits.
I was very interested in Hotel Lafayette. The hotel is in downtown Buffalo and was recently rehabilitated. It is a French Renaissance-style building designed by Louise Blanchard Bethune, the first professional woman architect in the United States, and was built between 1902 and 1911. The hotel was built during Buffalo’s World Fair Pan-American Exposition heyday and was considered one of the finest hotels in the county. Now it is home to a boutique hotel, banquet rooms, a brewery, shops, and restaurants.
We decided the Greenhouse Room in Hotel Lafayette was the perfect fit for us. The room is rustic and warm and guests will enter through the beautiful historic hotel lobby. With a center dance floor and a large wooden bar with Pan American Brewery’s yummy craft beer on tap, it’ll be a great place to throw a lively and fun reception.
I stopped in one afternoon to show my mom the space we wanted to book and snapped these photos. I need to go back and get some of the building and lobby!
