I have always known if I got pregnant I’d want to do maternity photos. I knew I’d want to capture this small window and celebrate it! I have been in love with my belly and it was so much fun being photographed pregnant.
For our maternity session we worked with Jenn Ayres of Ayres Photography again! We picked Chestnut Ridge park as the location and it was a good choice for many secluded woodsy locations. I got into fashion styling our session and bought a few dresses from PinkBlush for the session. I went with a white and pink maxi dress that I also wore to my baby showers and a navy maternity photoshoot dress. I also got a short navy and pink floral dress but it was still a bit chilly out to wear that one. Our little one’s nursery is blush, navy, and white so decided to work with that color palette in mind.
I decided to just go for it and got a flower crown made for the session. Flowers by Johnny in Kenmore made me this beautiful crown! I asked for a crown with a larger focal point off center, little pink and white roses, dusty miller leaves, and a woodsy magical feel. I had my hair done for the session too. Chelsey Merrill at Crown styled by hair into a lovely fishtail braid. I wore my wedding jewelry from BHLDN designed by Atelier Mon.
We had a fun evening wandering the woods doing these photos as the sunset. It was a bit chilly as spring hadn’t fully arrived yet but it didn’t bother me much!
I’ll be writing more blogs about our pregnancy and sharing some photos on Instagram with the hashtag #expectingpoe! Read more and check out my other expecting blogs.
