I got to photograph Calvin every month of his first year! But instead of doing a portrait session for his third month, I captured his christening and took photos of him with his family. The christening took place at a relative’s home and we took photos outside in the backyard.

explore : Billy Wilson Park
On Christmas day the weather was surprisingly nice and we had a of couple hours between family gatherings to take a little nature walk. We headed over the Billy Wilson Park in Amherst, a suburb of Buffalo, and walked the boardwalk through the swamp land there. As a kid I used to go to this boardwalk all the time, it’s right by my childhood home. It was fun revisiting it.
Stephanie and George’s Wedding
Stephanie and George had a beautiful and intimate winter wedding. The couple had a specific window of time to get married within so they opted for a Thursday evening wedding. A unique time made for a cozy winter gathering with close family and friends and gave the couple access to wedding vendors that were already booked up on the weekends. We had about an hour between the ceremony and reception to take the wedding photos so we shot at the same location and focused on getting portraits that captured the joy of the evening.
getting married : Honeymoon
We did it! I’m a married lady. It’s been a whirlwind and a busy last few months. Our wedding was lovely and a week after it we went on our honeymoon to Playa del Carmen!
getting married : Engagement Photos
Getting married means I’ll have to spend some time on the other side of the camera! Obviously being a photographer, good wedding photographs are pretty important to me. For our photographer we went with Sarah Wintle. I have had the pleasure of working with Sarah on Auxiliary Magazine shoots; she has modeled for me for a few different features over the years. Not only is she a wonderful model, she’s a wonderful photographer, with a true talent for journalistic, documentary style wedding photography.
A couple weeks ago we met up with her at Chestnut Ridge Park for an engagement photo session. An engagement session is a great way to get comfortable with your wedding photographer and now I feel very confident that working together in reverse roles for our wedding will be a lot of fun. Here are some of the highlights from our shoot!
