The excitement and fun around our first pregnancy continues! My husband and I decided to find out the gender of our little one on the way. We felt if our doctors knew, we wanted to know too! We felt it would be just as much of a surprise finding out at our ultrasound as it would be finding out after delivery. Plus, I am the planning type and wanted to be able to decorate the nursery exactly as I wanted knowing if we had a girl or boy on the way. Finding out gave us the chance to throw a gender reveal party to share the news with close family and friends! And of course I snapped some photos along the way.

expecting : Pregnancy Announcement Photos
I have some big news, my husband and I are expecting! After a couple years together as husband and wife we decided it was time to grow our family. Our newest family member, who we have playfully dubbed Poe for now, is well on their way and as of today I am 19 weeks along. I am loving being pregnant and luckily haven’t experienced too many symptoms!
Shannon Kramp’s Branding Lifestyle Session
Fashion stylist and Auxiliary Magazine contributor Shannon Kramp needed new and fresh portraits to use for promotion but in lieu of a straight up portrait session we opted for a Branding Lifestyle Session. A lifestyle session allowed us to showcase the many aspects of being a fashion stylist and the many ways she explores her creativity. I structured the session around a day in her life. We started at Atomic Barbershop and Salon in Tonawanda a suburb of Buffalo, New York. There Shannon had her hair and makeup done by stylist Lauren Ashley and I was able to capture the process. After a morning at the salon we went a bit down the street to the retro and pinup boutique Cats Like Us. Cats Like Us is a favorite spot for Shannon to shop and make pulls for fashion editorials and photoshoots. Throughout the session I utilized the available unique locations to take some portraits. It all made for a nice collection of photos!
getting married : Auxiliary Wedding Photos
Finally, I am making time to create the albums for my wedding and frame some prints! I never thought it would take me over a year but 2016 was a crazy one and I’m always busy with work so I have to carve out time for personal projects. After getting married in 2015 and totally loving the whole wedding planning process, I have started advertising weddings as a service I offer. I have been shooting weddings for years through referrals but with weddings being more unique, creative, and styled nowadays, I am shooting a lot more weddings! So now that wedding season is over, I have made the time to finish up projects with my own wedding photos and share them here on my blog.
On August 28, 2015 I married Michael Kieffer and since we are both editors of Auxiliary Magazine we playfully dubbed it the Auxiliary Wedding. I always thought my wedding would be very non-traditional but as we started planning I found I really wanted to do many of the traditions so our wedding became a balance between following along with tradition and making it our own.
Jennifer and RJ’s Fairytale Castle Wedding
Jennifer and RJ’s Buffalo wedding felt like a fairytale. All day long it was huge smiles and excitement. Beyond the happiness that felt like magic, the wedding was styled like a fairytale complete with a castle. The bride’s dress was a fit for a princess with sheer cap sleeves and a corseted back. The bride wore a tiara and beautiful pearl and crystal jewelry. The couple had their first dance to “Beauty and the Beast” from the Disney animated classic. The reception took place at Tonawanda Castle and we did their photos there as well, using many of the castle’s rooms and hallways. My favorite photos from the day were of the couple outside the castle at dusk.
Jennifer and RJ planned their whole fairytale castle wedding from Los Angeles with a couple of trips to Buffalo for in person meetings. An impressive feat! Jennifer’s hometown is Buffalo so it seemed the perfect location so they could be surrounded by family and friends.
