Had a great time hanging out with families all day at the Ivy Arch Bridge in Delaware Park this year for holiday minis! The Petty family were an adorable bunch. A little of encouragement and warm up were needed for the littlest member, Simon, but not much! Mom of the family Becky gushes, “He’s got the best freakin’ smile in the world.”
“Simon did not want to be photographed on the morning we met up with Jenny for pictures. He also didn’t want to wear his nice flannel, or smile, or stand up, or throw leaves. He wanted to go to Target,” Becky explains. She then went on to say words that just make me so happy and flattered to hear, “my family, in our authentic moments, is chaotic, and silly, and playful, and not as perfect as we look in pretty pictures. I think that’s why I had so much fun shooting with Jenny. She’s a mom. She gets it. And she photographed not some staged family of models all perfectly poised and posed, but my family: our silly attempts to make my little guy smile, the ridiculous picture that my husband and I like to take of him holding me like we’re teenagers, and me chucking leaves in the air to try and cheer up my cranky preschooler.” They were awesome and so much fun!
