For my daughter’s 2 Year Portrait Session we did a studio session with a balloon arch! We built the arch for our porch for a social distancing walk by party. Tip, a balloon arch that’s been out in sun and wind all day will not look good in the end. All the balloons were faded and many popped. So we built a second arch. But another tip, get a balloon arch strip because it really is so much easier to make one of these than you would think! The strip was a long clear plastic piece with holes in it to stick the balloon ends through with a slit next to the hole to push the end through to secure it. Last tip, get a hand held balloon pump.
For Odette’s outfit I ordered a few things to make sure it’d come together well. This is actually the backup dress I ordered, the first one had ruffly shoulders and just did not look right on her. You never know what something will look like in person. I got two headbands and loved and used them both. The larger felt floral headband is from Vanaguelite and the smaller from Eliinik. Her cute bird shoes are Livie and Luca and the two shirt is from Romari for Kids.
We had a blast doing these and I had to include some of the ones of us goofing around. Photographing a two year old can be a feat but sure is fun. I can’t believe my little one is two!
After the first year, a photo session once a year around their birthday is a great habit to get into. Learn more about booking a 2 Year Portrait Session on my portrait investment page.
