Angela and Jim’s pandemic wedding wasn’t what they originally had in mind but throughout their intimate church ceremony and backyard, garage, and driveway reception the focus was on what truly mattered. 2020 was a tough year for weddings without a doubt. Angela and Jim had to cancel their originally planned reception and give up their dream location. Despite everything and a ton of rain, Angela and Jim got married and made it special. I was honored to be a part of their day.

The Garden styled wedding fashion editorial for Auxiliary Magazine
My work is on the cover of Auxiliary Magazine’s Spring 2020 Issue and the issue features a several page styled wedding editorial I planned, styled, and photographed! I had been daydreaming about a styled wedding editorial focusing on a bride and her bridesmaids for a long time. One that would highlight the excitement, friendship, and sisterhood. I knew I needed just the right subject to be my bride and when I finally found the perfect fit, she had two family members to be bridesmaids!
Meagan and Cameron’s Backyard Wedding
Meagan and Cameron’s Buffalo wedding brought classic elegance to a backyard setting. Fixtures such as the personalized wooden ceremony backdrop, DIYed by the bride, and the huge white reception tent made this backyard wedding feel grander. Yet DIY details let the couple’s carefree and fun personalities and their unique styles show through. All together it created the exact blend the bride desired of traditional elements, like her dream wedding dress, and rustic elements of being outdoors and laid back.
The day was filled with laughter and smiles and it was a wonderful capturing sincere moments all day long. It was clear everyone was having a good time, it really showed.
getting married : Auxiliary Wedding Photos
Finally, I am making time to create the albums for my wedding and frame some prints! I never thought it would take me over a year but 2016 was a crazy one and I’m always busy with work so I have to carve out time for personal projects. After getting married in 2015 and totally loving the whole wedding planning process, I have started advertising weddings as a service I offer. I have been shooting weddings for years through referrals but with weddings being more unique, creative, and styled nowadays, I am shooting a lot more weddings! So now that wedding season is over, I have made the time to finish up projects with my own wedding photos and share them here on my blog.
On August 28, 2015 I married Michael Kieffer and since we are both editors of Auxiliary Magazine we playfully dubbed it the Auxiliary Wedding. I always thought my wedding would be very non-traditional but as we started planning I found I really wanted to do many of the traditions so our wedding became a balance between following along with tradition and making it our own.
Jennifer and RJ’s Fairytale Castle Wedding
Jennifer and RJ’s Buffalo wedding felt like a fairytale. All day long it was huge smiles and excitement. Beyond the happiness that felt like magic, the wedding was styled like a fairytale complete with a castle. The bride’s dress was a fit for a princess with sheer cap sleeves and a corseted back. The bride wore a tiara and beautiful pearl and crystal jewelry. The couple had their first dance to “Beauty and the Beast” from the Disney animated classic. The reception took place at Tonawanda Castle and we did their photos there as well, using many of the castle’s rooms and hallways. My favorite photos from the day were of the couple outside the castle at dusk.
Jennifer and RJ planned their whole fairytale castle wedding from Los Angeles with a couple of trips to Buffalo for in person meetings. An impressive feat! Jennifer’s hometown is Buffalo so it seemed the perfect location so they could be surrounded by family and friends.
