Ashleigh and Jamison got engaged at Hoyt Lake in Delaware Park so it was their top pick for a location for their engagement session. It was also a given that their dogs would be included in the session! They were very excited to be included and even had bandanas and leashes that matched their owner’s outfits. Too cute! Ashleigh and Jamison were smart too, they invited a friend to their session to take the dogs after their time in the spotlight was over. After the doggie portraits we went over by the willow trees for some cozy shots while the sun began to set.

Calvin 7 Year Portrait Session
Every year since Calvin was born I have photographed him for a portrait session around his birthday. This year marks 7 years! I highly recommend doing a yearly portrait session for each child as they grow up so quickly. School photos won’t capture them the same way a portrait session will. A yearly family session or sibling session is a great option too but a one-on-one portrait session really gets the most photos and unique moments. It is a fun experience too!
This year we went to the Burchfield Nature & Art Center. I love this location! So many fun spots to shoot. Funny enough we used the wall of the restroom building to have a neutral backdrop for up close portraits. And I don’t normally like shooting in the gazebo, gazebo photos sound like a good idea but it’s often a problematic place to photograph, but I love how sitting in the middle of the patterned floorboards turned out!
Odette 3 Year Portrait Session
For my daughter’s 3 year portrait session we got a giant 3 balloon and headed to the park! She wore the rainbow crown and dress from her birthday party. It was a lot of fun!
Andy and Daisy Proposal Session
Spent part of my Mother’s Day this year capturing this proposal! So beautiful and amazing! When Andy reached out to contact me and told me his proposal plans I just couldn’t say no to photographing it. Lulani’s Tables set the scene with a stunning picnic set up on the edge of Hoyt Lake in Buffalo’s Delaware Park. There was a gorgeous table setting, pillows and blankets to get cozy with, lots of delicious food, champagne, and even a checkers game. I just had to get a good handful of details. Then Andy and Daisy arrived and Andy popped the question right away. There were so many smiles and kisses and so much laughter and joy after that. It was so clear how happy and in love they both were. We did some portraits and then I stayed for a few to capture as they dug in. Love this set, had to share a ton!
Nuemann Extended Family Session
It was a pleasure to see an old friend from high school and photograph her lovely family! We did an extended family session at Glen Park under their octagon pavilion. The picked time and date were the only time and date the whole family could get together for photos, with members coming together from out of town. So despite the heavy rain, the session had to go on! Although not the original plan, it proved to be a nice location. Kids can be hard to photograph in a contained space with all their family looking on so we ventured out to the nearby nature playground to capture some shots we couldn’t get under the pavilion. We made it fun!
